Halibut Cove Lagoon Water Taxi

Halibut Cove Lagoon, situated on the south side of Kachemak Bay within Kachemak Bay State Park, remains concealed and shielded from most weather conditions. Its tranquil waters offer an ideal environment for novice kayak paddlers. The lagoon is home to diverse marine life including porpoises, seals, sea otters, and occasionally land otters along the shore. Visitors can access amenities such as the ranger station and three public use cabins—East, West, and the Overlook. Additionally, Halibut Cove Lagoon serves as the starting point for trails leading to Leisure Lake (also known as China Poot Lake) and Poot’s Peak. Please note, Halibut Cove Lagoon is distinct from the private community of Halibut Cove.
